How do you charge for moves?
We charge a simple hourly rate based on how many movers your job needs, with a standard 2-hour minimum. There's no base fee and no show-up fee — the price we quote is the price you pay. We'll give you an honest estimate before the job so you know what to expect.
What does the moving process look like?
It's simple: you request a quote, we confirm the details and give you an honest estimate, and we lock in your date. On move day we show up on time, protect your home and belongings, load carefully, transport, and unload everything where you want it. We don't consider the job done until you're satisfied.
What won't you move?
For safety and legal reasons, we don't transport hazardous materials (propane tanks, gasoline, chemicals, ammunition, or other flammables), live plants or animals, or perishable food. We also recommend you personally carry irreplaceable valuables like cash, jewelry, and important documents. If you're unsure about an item, just ask.
Do you take TVs off the wall?
We're happy to help with your TV, but we generally ask that wall-mounted TVs be dismounted before we arrive, or let us know ahead of time so we can plan for it. We'll carefully wrap and transport your TV once it's down. Re-mounting at the new home can be discussed when you book.
Do you assemble and disassemble beds?
Yes. Basic bed disassembly and reassembly is part of what we do. Just let us know in advance so we bring the right tools and budget the time. More complex furniture (certain cribs, specialty items) — mention it when you book so there are no surprises.
Do I need to remove the drawers from my dresser?
Usually not for a standard local move — we can often move dressers as-is or with drawers secured. For heavier dressers or longer hauls, we may ask you to remove the drawers to protect both the furniture and our crew. We'll let you know what's best for your specific pieces.
Should I tip the movers?
Tipping is never required and never expected — our pricing is fair on its own. That said, our crews work hard, and if they did a great job, a tip is always appreciated as a way to say thanks. Whatever feels right to you is right.
How far in advance should I book?
The sooner the better, especially for weekends and end-of-month dates, which fill up fast. But we'll always do our best to fit you in — we've handled plenty of next-day moves. Reach out and we'll tell you what's available.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We're a registered carrier (USDOT No. 4897518) operating under Crump Collective LLC. If you have specific insurance questions for your move, just ask and we'll walk you through it.
